Landport Skatepark taster session

Jul 30, 2025

This Monday, we had the pleasure of delivering a free two-hour skateboard workshop to local kids at Landport Skatepark in Lewes — and what a day it was.

With 18 young riders turning up, boards in hand and nerves kicking in, it didn’t take long for the group to settle into the session. Within minutes, the vibe was up, tricks were being tried, and confidence was building. By the end, every single skater had pushed through their comfort zone, picked up new skills, and left feeling proud (and a little bit dusty).

This wasn’t just about learning how to ride. It was a chance to show what the Skate Farm is all about — creating safe, supportive, inclusive spaces where people of all abilities can grow, skate, and feel part of something.

It also wouldn’t have been possible without Landport Skatepark itself — a real community effort. Originally a poorly designed space, it was transformed into a DIY skate spot thanks to the hard work and vision of locals, led by Ben English. What they’ve created is not only usable, it’s brilliant — a testament to what can be achieved when skaters come together with a mission.

More sessions coming

As schools across the region break up for the summer, we’ll be doing more free taster sessions like this at local skateparks. The goal? To introduce more kids to skating, build confidence, and give them a taste of what The Skate Farm (and the Wizard of Skate) are all about.

So if you missed this one, don’t worry — we’re just getting started.

Keep an eye on our Instagram and booking page for upcoming dates and venues.
