Haywards Heath’s home for indoor skating

Founded by Tom, a lifelong skater with a dream to build something special, The Skate Farm is a community-run indoor skatepark in Haywards Heath. It’s a safe, welcoming space for riders of all ages — from first drop-ins to seasoned shredders. With smooth ramps, chill-out zones, and a crew that’s always got your back, this is where Sussex skates, connects, and grows.

We’re not just an indoor skatepark — we’re a community.

Tom

The OG Wizard of Skate

Tom stands on the edge of a skate ramp, smiling and making a gesture with their hands.

Why he started Skate Farm

Tom has been skating most of his life. When he saw there was nowhere in Haywards Heath for riders to go — somewhere safe, welcoming, and built around the community rather than just the sport — he decided to build it himself. The Skate Farm opened as a CIC because Tom wanted it to be genuinely for everyone, not just the confident few.

What he offers

Tom coaches riders of all ages and abilities, from kids stepping on a board for the first time to adults rediscovering skating after years away. His approach is patient, encouraging, and always focused on building confidence first. The tricks come later — and they always do.

What the farm means to him

The Skate Farm has become something bigger than Tom imagined. Riders travel from across Sussex to be part of it, and the community that's grown around the park is what keeps him going. Whether it's a 6-year-old nailing their first ramp or a 40-something finally dropping in, seeing people grow through skating is why he built this place.
